Mission: Episode 17 - Going Home
Location: SCIF - Deck 9 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD026 1500 hrs

Rowena was getting ready for the meeting. There wasn't much to do for her other than just prepare drinks and snacks. She had a few padds with her with some of her own notes. And some to make notes on. This was also a way for her to get to know her own staff. Now that she was relieved of her duties on the bridge, she could really focus on her duties in the SCIF.

Jayna walked into intel with her PADD in hand. "Hi. How are you today?"

Rowena nodded to Jayna as she walked in. She offered her a little refreshment before the others came in.

The last mission to Breyet Nor really brought back a lot of the love that Makeba had for Starfleet. She would hate to admit it but Malbrooke may have been right with what he told her when she first boarded this ship. There was even the idea in the back of her head to ask for her rank back. However, for the time being there was another meeting to be had. Such was the life of an Intelligence Officer in Starfleet. She took a seat at the usual console that she used and gave a curt nod to those present. "Lieutenant, Commander."

Emiko walked into the briefing room. She looked around and saw all the other brass that was here. So far, she was the only enlisted person here. It was painfully obvious that they must view her as extremely valuable, which warmed her heart. She gave a faint smile, as she greeted everyone with a soft, "Good day." She then sat down primly and properly at the far end of the room.

Kaylara was next to arrive. She looked around at the group assembled, then nodded to Jayna and sat down where she could watch the others.

Stefan took off his headphones, he had been listening to messages, that had been recorded. This was part of data mining. At the arrival of the others, he turned from the console, and moved to where the others were gathered.

"Looks like most of us are here." Stefan remarked quietly.

Gage entered and moved to the closest open chair in the briefing room. "Hello, everyone," he said. "I'm glad I didn't miss the party."

"Nope not at all" Stefan giving a nod and a smile, looking towards where Rowena was, "head count. Everyone is here."

Emiko gave a shy smile over at Stefan, waiting for the meeting to begin.

Jayna adjusted her PADD as she waited for the meeting to begin. There'd been a lot of chatter and she was looking forward to hearing what the others had to report.

Stefan reached over and picked up the remote that activated the holo emitters for the situation table.

Floating over the table was the image of the Planet Gamite, it slowly spinning on its semi tilted axis. There were patches of green and in other places there were some areas with volcanic activity. In another area were icy regions. The information as to what was happening, the scan reports from the scientists at work were causing some concern to Stefan.

"There is a science team upon the Planet Gamite, who are reporting unusual seismic activity, it is unknown if there will be more bending of the equivalent tectonic plates. They will be keeping 'us' apprised of the situation." Stefan giving his report.

He looked over towards the next person, "Emiko, you're up next." handing the remote to activate the information that she had to share.

Emiko piped up. "I've been monitoring Cardassian communications and it seems that a religious group called the Oralian Way is starting to gain a bit more popularity. The Oralian Way was outlawed by the Cardassian Union. My research shows that many members actually went to Bajor to escape the Cardassian Union and practice their faith. Now, though, with religious freedom having opened up, they're finding a foothold again on Cardassia."

That could prove interesting. Since this was open for anyone to go next, Jayna spoke up. "General Francis Sobel and his wife, Tempest, have been kidnapped. Intel says they are currently en route to Breyet Nor. Unfortunately, they weren't there when the Marines were. This is currently in the hands of the Corps."

Kaylara nodded and took her turn. "An El Aurian statesman named Crailo Feshau has opened negotiations with the Cardassians--and by extension Starfleet--on behalf of a new El Aurian homeworld called Kaitos. His daughter is Lieutenant Commander Aer Feshau Patton, the Chief Intelligence Officer on Faltan Station."

There was the briefest of flicker from Stefan at hearing the name of Aer. An eyebrow raising upwards.

She was formerly his boss, before he was transferred to the USS Pioneer. Which in essence had saved his hide. He had made the mistake in asking her for something, which he had no right to do so. He soon realized that Colonel Patton was a jealous man, and Stefan had a good idea that Blackjack had engineered his transfer to where he was now.

Faltan Station, that is where she rather they ended up at.

Stefan turned his gaze towards the others who had something else to share.

"I have something interesting," Gage said, looking around at the group. "I've been looking over some intelligence we received from a field agent. They were on a ship bound for Cardassia, which is why I was looking at the report, when they suddenly changed course and ended up docking at Breyet Nor, a previously unknown, covert Nor Class station in the Badlands. It was a quick stop, and while the agent couldn't get off, he did get a copy of the ship's sensor readings. They showed that the station's power supply was provided by Romulan technology."

Rowena looked on a padd. "Interesting, has there been more reports of Romulan activities?" She asked tapping the table surface she was standing next to.

Jayna made a note of the Romulan tech on Breyet Nor. That bore further investigation. And, since her recent trip there plus the kidnapping of the Sobols, she felt personally invested in what went on there.

Makeba spoke up for the first time during the meeting. "While we were on the station there was no sign of Romulans. News out of their space involves a lot of infighting vying for control of what is left of the Empire. Although, there is a unifying rally behind something they call the Artifact. There is no intel as to what this Artifact is. Suffice to say that they have their hands too full at the moment to involve themselves in whatever is going on in the Badlands."

More interesting information coming their way. Breyt Nor? A station being powered by a Romulan power source?

Then the news from Makeba. about an artifact? Further information about Romulan activity. Stefan glanced over towards Kaylara, wondering about this piece of news. Though she may have heard about this. And even more, he wondered if her family were being affected by what was happening.

"An artifact? Anymore news about that or, there will be more to come." Stefan remarked.

"That's all there is at the moment," Makeba replied. In truth, she was not sure how they would go about getting any more information on that subject. Information does not leave the Romulan Empire too easily.

"Hopefully, we can find something more as time goes on," Stefan said musingly. "Thank you for the reports, all of you. Gives a lot of food for thought and something to keep an ear and eye out for."

"I'll update the files and see if I can find additional information," Jayna said to Stefan and Rowena. And she wanted to do more checking on a few other things, so this would give her a perfect opportunity to do both when she had her next shift in the SCIF. "See you later."
